Reviews are bogus! This is an unprofessional, disorganized dump. When I scheduled my appointment, I was told they accepted my insurance. Then on the day of the appointment I was told they don't accept my insurance. Wasting my time. Pass it up!

5 star experience. Terry the receptionist is so friendly and makes me feel welcome. Then Effie checks my hearing and explains all of the results to me so that I understand what treatment I need. She programs my hearing aids and tries really hard to lessen my tinnitus and improve my hearing. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my hearing needs.

They don't deserve any stars. You ask them to send you the address and they can't even do a simple thing like that. Then when you ask which way to walk they can't even get that right.

Easy to schedule an appointment, staff very friendly and all my questions and concerns were answered. Iu2019m new to having hearing aids so I donu2019t have any more interactions to report. Have a new hearing test ahead and I know several people who have never had a follow up hearing test though not customers of AHC.

Effie is very knowledgeable of all the different brands and types of hearing aids. I still have a loan on my current pair. When I'm ready to upgrade to the newest technology, I will contact Effie.

Had an appointment at 3 o'clock and had no waiting. Couldn't fix my hearing aid but sent it out and gave me a loaner so it was better than not hearing at all until my hearing aid is fixed.

Weu2019re not even actually regular patients here, because they donu2019t do pediatrics, but my daughter had a problem with her hearing aids and they generously immediately agreed to help. Did a great job and really solved the problem for us. So appreciate their total willingness to help!

Eddy was courteous and welcoming in my first visit to the upper Montclair office. My questions were addressed and I will return to this office in February.

Effy and Terry are always there to help their patients with whatever problems come about. They are reachable and happy to see you when you arrive. They always solve my problems.

The woman was very pleasant. I felt she was trying to sell me new hearing aids more as a saleswoman than as a professional.

I saw them prior to Pandemic and was impressed by the staff's efficiency and kindness, especially understanding that I needed to wait before making this investment. Fast forward to April 2022; I was asked to provide records to an employer and even though I had not been able to purchase hearing aids from here yet due to financial difficulty during Covid (laid off from college teaching due to low enrollment), Terry and the rest of the team located and forwarded my records. Thank you!! Can't say enough good things about this place!!

To us purchasing hearing aids is a huge undertaking. Modern technology is only a piece of the experience. The technician fitting and fine tuning the instruments, really is the piece that makes for a positive or negative outcome. My husband's experience with his purchase 5 years ago with a different agency was NOT positive. However, recently, both he and I visited American Hearing Centers in Upper Montclair, and our experience was most positive from our dealings with the receptionist, Terry, through testing, fitting and follow up with Effie Sullivan. She really knows the technology and implements and adapts it to each patient's needs with patience and care, explaining everything in detail. We highly recommend her to all.

Dr Sullivan was so helpful. The new hearing aids made a huge difference for my mom. Dr Sullivan took so much time to make sure that the hearings aids were properly adjusted and comfortable. Excellent receptionist as well!

My hearing had been bad for several years and was getting worse when I came to Micro Instruments two and a half years ago and Effie has basically given me a new life by being most encouraging and making sure my hearing aid is in top shape and that I am comfortable at all times.She is also aware that I am on a fixed income every month which limits the amount of money I have to devote to my hearing loss and goes out of her way to help me address this issue besides which she is one of the sweetest human beings on the planet. The same goes for her co-pilot Terry who schedules my appointments and makes sure to remind me of them as well as making sure that I am feeling well and up to keeping my appointments.She too is an angel to deal with. I would recommend visiting these two incredible ladies without reservation,and there is probably no better specialist in hearing care than Effie. Sh ,along with Terry, have given me the joy of hearing again after many years of everyone having to shout at me.

I recently visited Micro Instruments in Upper Montclair to evaluate my hearing problem. It was easy to make an appointment and when I arrived, I was seen immediately. My evaluation was very professional yet warm and friendly. After the evaluation, I was offered several choices to help my problem. I highly recommend Micro Instruments for perspective purchase of hearing devices. The services here are such as I've NEVER received before. Terry, the secretary is a tremendous blessing. She's VERY warm, friendly, professional and welcoming. The Hearing Aid Specialist, Efrat Sullivan is ABSOLUTELY second to none. She's extremely courteous, caring, professional as well as knowledgeable in her field. She ordered a set of hearing aids that didn't fit properly. She immediately suggested that I get a more suitable device that's more conducive. She made sure I was comfortable with this information and the impressions that were needed to send to the mfg for proper fitting. Been with Micro Instruments since 1980. Everyone treats you here as family. The store has changed hands, but the new folks are just as nice. Effi and Terry and Tom were knowledgeable, courteous and patient, and when asked, repeat information with a smile. Tom took the time to try to motivate me to wear the aids on a daily basis, not just when I am out and about. He was honest enough to say that he would not offer new and better aids, because no matter how good the new ones might be, they wont help me if I don't wear them! He heard my complaint about the old molds getting itchy after long periods of use and offered me a new mold to try. Looking forward to my next visit to this friendly place.

Terry is a very friendly and helpful upfront person and made sure that mom got the help she needed from the Hearing Care Specialist as soon as possible. Really appreciate the personal touch.

This place provides great service, explanations and cleanliness standards are excellent. Right now they are allowing one person in at a time, sanitizing and masking so everyone feels quite safe. The staff is courteous, caring and easy to talk to- very understanding of the multiple questions a family might have. The technical staff is quite competent and the Medicare standards are clearly explained. Very caring and competent.

When I first went to Micro Instruments, I was a little concerned if I was going to get what I really needed. Effie and Terry put me at ease with their thorough explanation of how the technology has excelled in the areas of hearing aids. Effie was excellent in her testing and was very thorough. Her knowledge of the effects of hearing loss was above average. She was able to explain the hearing aids work and the benefits of having them. I bought a pair and since then I have been very happy of the results. Thank you Micro.

As always I was greeted with a pleasant welcome by the receptionist followed by meeting with the audiologist shortly thereafter and she solved my hearing device in only a few minutes reminding me I had coverage and did not have to pay. Both Effy and Terry are a pleasure to work with. I had an emergency ( lost hearing aid) and I was seen quickly and fitted with a u201clenderu201d to hold me while the search continued. All questions are answered fully and I have never felt rushed . Effy is very knowledgeable and offers helpful suggestions.

I can no longer put off giving my review of services at Micro Instruments. They are first rate. I've been recently fitted for a hearing aid for my left ear. Prior I was wearing a cross-over. With frequent visits to get the problems resolved for my particular hearing challenges, I've been given an enhanced % of hearing. I told Effie that she sure doesn't have an easy job. Her reply was, "I love my work!" I believe that is their success. Terry also reflects this. I've been a client here over 30 years. Always very kind and professional.

Routine check-up on Signa hearing aids worn about a year and a half was performed professionally with advice to wear them daily even if confined inside residence. Terry and Effie are very pleasant and competent.

I have always received expert, caring, and individualized service both from Kim O'Connell, the former owner, and currently from Effie Sullivan, the new owner. Both women listen carefully to me as I describe my situation and hearing needs, and respond with a solution or choice of aid that will best suit my needs and circumstances. Excellent customer service is their motto! Thus, I have always been very satisfied with the hearing aids I have purchased from Micro Instruments and when there was a repair issue, it was handled efficiently and with ease. Office hours are ample, it is easy to get an appointment, there is both on street parking and a lot in the back, and Teri, the office receptionist, is always pleasant, friendly, super helpful, and efficient.

On my right ear Their technology is new and completely updated Now, Iu2019m actually wearing two hearings aids You can purchase hearing aid with batteries or go with the new technology, recharge it every night Iu2019m 65 years old. I decided to go with the technology and what a DIFFERENCE it is.
